Everything Is Ready | The Rev. Tom Ortung | October 11, 2026

A king prepares a lavish wedding feast for his son, and the invited guests are too busy to come. In this sermon, Father Tom Ortung looks at Jesus’ parable of the wedding banquet and invites us to consider how often our own distractions keep us from the grace God offers. He reflects on Paul’s letter to the Philippians, written while Paul was in prison, and on how Martin Luther King Jr. drew on Paul’s example from his own jail cell in Birmingham. Paul’s advice still holds: be gentle, give thanks, try not to worry, and pray.
