🏔️ Returning to My Hometown After 4 Years | Berinag, Uttarakhand ❤️ | The Reality of Migration After four long years, I finally returned to my hometown, Berinag, nestled in the beautiful mountains of Uttarakhand. ❤️ This visit was more than just a trip back home; it was a journey through memories, emotions, and the changing reality of our pahadi villages. From our old ancestral home and the peaceful mandir to the familiar mountain paths and the elderly people still living in the village, every corner had a story to tell. But something felt different.🥹 Many homes that once echoed with laughter and family gatherings are now quiet. Many people have moved to cities in search of better education, employment, and opportunities. This ongoing migration, known as *palayan*, has left several villages in Uttarakhand with fewer residents, aging populations, and homes filled with memories of the people who once lived there. Our mountains are still beautiful, our traditions are still precious, and our roots remain deeply connected to this land. But the question is who will keep these villages alive if everyone has to leave? This vlog is a small glimpse into my hometown, Berinag, its beauty, its people, its temples, its old homes, and the emotions that come with returning after years away.
