1159 - Sóller, Mallorca: Puerto de Sóller, Es Control to Monument on Friday 28th August 2026

Welcome to Podbaba Transport Video 1159. On Friday 28th August 2026, we continued filming the Ferrocarril de Sóller tram route making videos in Puerto Sóller and between Es Control and Monument L'Horta crossing. Between Sa Torre and Monument L'Horta, trams run on the seaward side of the road on a private reservation and then cross the main road to run up into Sóller between the houses and farms crossing the Torrent Major on a tram only bridge structure. Trams and trailers in service on the day were the same as previous days except for the afternoon triplication that was missing the Tram 20+T5 combination due to shortage of staff. Our final section of track to be covered is from Monument L'Horta to Sóller station and this will form video 1160 in the coming days. In the morning, we stopped for coffee, fresh orange juice and sparkling water at Los Geranios ****Hotel & Restaurant - superb friendly staff, beautiful coffee and orange juice you could taste had just come off the tree!
