Beyond Cardboard - Designing Custom 3D Printed Packaging | Egyptian Sarcophagus

In this video, I'll show you how to design and 3D print custom packaging that doubles as a display case for collectibles. Using the Anycubic Kobra S1 Combo, I created an Egyptian sarcophagus shipping container for my Rick O'Connell figure, transforming a standard delivery into an unforgettable unboxing experience. 🎨 The Concept: While preparing to ship my Rick O'Connell commission, I realized custom packaging could add an extra layer of storytelling to the collector's experience. A 3D printed sarcophagus was the perfect way to go above and beyond. 🔨 Design & Build: I started with sketches, designing the sarcophagus with clean geometry optimized for FDM 3d printing. To work within the Kobra S1's build volume, I split the design into multiple pieces with a cracked stone effect, making the seams part of the aesthetic. The prints required minimal post-processing. After airbrushing for texture, I assembled the pieces with hot glue and epoxy clay to create the illusion of ancient broken stone. Finally, I cut custom pick-and-pluck foam to cradle each figure component safely inside. 🚀 Why Custom 3D Printed Packaging? This beats cardboard every time.
