Morro Dois Irmãos Sunrise 🇧🇷 Hiking Above Rio de Janeiro, Vidigal & Epic Views

Join me on an early morning hike to Morro Dois Irmãos in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil 🇧🇷 — one of the most spectacular viewpoints over the city. We start in Vidigal before sunrise and take a local moto-taxi uphill to the beginning of the trail. From there, the hike takes us through the Atlantic Forest, with the path gradually becoming steeper as we climb. Morro Dois Irmãos, meaning “Two Brothers”, is one of Rio’s most recognizable landmarks. The trail offers several viewpoints along the way, including spectacular views over Vidigal, Rocinha, Leblon and Ipanema. We reach the summit before sunrise and wait as the sky slowly changes color. Then the sun appears between the mountains and the ocean. Everyone watches in silence — until the applause, singing and cheers begin. After sunrise, we start our descent. In daylight, the trail is easier to follow, although some sections are still slippery. Along the way, we also encounter small sagui monkeys, wild animals that should not be fed or touched. Finally, we descend through Vidigal and reach the entrance gate. A challenging climb, an unforgettable sunrise and one of the best panoramic views of Rio de Janeiro.
