😱 A Teacher Drove to Meet a "14-Year-Old." Police Were Already on Their Way. 😱 📍 THE MEETING July 24th, 2024. A Walmart on South Military Trail in Delray Beach, Florida. Joshua Hablo, 34, an elementary school staff member at Barton Elementary, arrives to meet a teenager he has been messaging online. The teenager doesn't exist. 🎥 THE CONFRONTATION A civilian group called 561 Predator Catchers, working with a decoy operation called People Versus Predators, is already inside. The group's organizer calls 911 before Hablo ever walks through the door. 🚔 THE BODYCAM Delray Beach officers arrive and read Hablo his rights. He agrees to talk anyway. On camera, he answers every question about who he came to meet and why. 🎒 THE SEARCH Officers search what he's carrying. One item, and one answer to a single question, turns his statement into something investigators can check against physical evidence. 📞 THE PHONE CALL Before he's driven to jail, Hablo asks to call someone. The officer on the line says only that he's being arrested, and lets Hablo explain the rest himself. ⚖️ THE OUTCOME Hablo was fired from the school district. In February 2025, he pleaded guilty to traveling to meet a minor to commit an unlawful sex act and unlawful use of a two-way communications device. Sentence: 2 years in state prison with 200 days credit, followed by 5 years of probation. He is registered as a sex offender, surrendered his Florida teaching certification, and records show he has since been deported.
