Having experienced multiple flight delays and cancelled flights, it was quite the ordeal with the airport and the airlines. However, as they say with dark clouds and silver linings, on one of the flight cancellations, the airline was able to put me up in a hotel for the night, and not just any hotel... it was at the hotel where the largest Asian Buffet is located. I've been to the buffet many years ago as we arrived, the familiar building starts bringing back memories. This is the emponous restaurant in College Point, New York and with a name of "The Buffet", it's nearly impossible to search on the web. But the search is worth it, because it is an amazing Buffet spread even on a weekday and even during an hour before closing; the time when I arrived. Just like New York buildings, the buffet items are tightly packed. With crispy fatty peking duck, loads of seafood from oysters and clams, to whole crabs and crab legs, it's Asian flavours at their finest. While the made to order steaks and grilled scallops were great, it was the simple soup station that brought all the traditional comforting favorites.
