What can an NVIDIA DGX Spark (GB10 chip, 128 GB unified memory) actually do for an enterprise IT team? This explainer combines sourced research with our own measurements on a real unit (October 2026): an architecture diagram of an on-prem AI platform, a system diagram inside the box, 8 IT use cases that fit, the jobs it should not take, how many users one unit serves, clustering, security and governance, and a 90-day starter plan. (A Thai edition is also on this channel.)

Key points
GB10 = 20-core Arm CPU + Blackwell GPU sharing one 128 GB LPDDR5X pool at 273 GB/s. NVIDIA states up to 200B parameters per unit, 400B with two and 700B with four (at roughly 4-bit precision).
The bottleneck is memory bandwidth: LMSYS measured GPT-OSS 20B at 49.7 tokens/s vs 215 on an RTX PRO 6000, and Llama 3.1 70B FP8 at only 2.7, so MoE models are the better fit.
Our own unit (single request): Qwen3.6-35B-A3B NVFP4 41.0, Typhoon 2.5 53.4, Qwen3.8-27B 11.4 tokens/s; five models loaded together in 121.7 GiB with about 21 GiB free.
8 use cases: coding assistant, RAG, agents/n8n/Airflow, OCR of Thai documents, NL2SQL, LoRA fine-tuning, voice and video (measure first) and a team sandbox.
Total users are not concurrent requests: throughput grows with batching (Llama 3.1 8B from 20.5 to 368 tokens/s at 32 requests). One unit suits a team or small department; load-test with real work.
Skip it when you need fast chat with a small model that fits a GPU card (RTX 5090 / RTX PRO 6000 are about 4x faster) or when serving many people at once.
On-prem is not secure by default: a gateway with per-app keys, data-protection law, OWASP Top 10 for LLM, firewalling and your regulator's AI guidance.
Prices move fast: launched at $3,999, raised to $4,699 in Feb 2026, and a Sep 2026 report found higher US street prices. Ask for a current quote before buying.
LMSYS results used software from Oct 2025; newer software may give different numbers.
Organization names, IPs and host names are removed; model names on screen use neutral llm-* aliases.
