"All the Good Stuff" | Philippians 4:4-13 | Pastor Heckmann

Paul tells the Philippians to rejoice always, and then tells them he has learned to be content in any circumstance, whether brought low or living in abundance. Pastor Heckmann works through the reading backwards, starting at the promise that we can do all things through Christ who strengthens us and tracing it back to the rejoicing and the peace that guard our hearts and minds. Along the way he asks a question worth sitting with, which is whether our thoughts are fixed on everything that is wrong or on what is true, honorable, and lovely. This episode draws from Philippians 4:4-13, with supporting texts from Philippians 1:6, Philippians 1:9-11, Philippians 2:5-11, Philippians 3:7-14, Luke 10:20, and Hebrews 12:2. Key themes include contentment in every circumstance, rejoicing in the Lord, the peace of God that surpasses understanding, directing the mind toward what is good and beautiful and true, humility and unity in the church, and the assurance that our names are written in heaven.
