Motorbike Trouble, Hiking & Football with Locals | Malawi Adventure

🇲🇼 Exploring rural Malawi - and things didn’t quite go to plan! Our latest adventure took us to Mbamba, near Lake Malawi, where we jumped on the back of local motorbike taxis for a journey into the surrounding hills. What started as a straightforward ride quickly became a little more interesting when my motorbike ran out of petrol halfway there! 😂 After an unexpected stop and a roadside petrol delivery, we were back on our way. We eventually reached the start of our hike and headed into the hills, taking in some fantastic views over the surrounding countryside and Lake Malawi. I also managed to get the drone up for some aerial footage of the landscape. But one of the highlights of the day came afterwards. ⚽ We stopped at a local football pitch and joined the children for a game of football. Malawi vs Australia! It was a brilliant experience and a reminder that if youre doing this trip, bringing a football as a gift can really brighten these kids’ lives and also that some of the best moments when travelling aren’t necessarily the ones you plan. And after all that? 🍺 A well-deserved beer in one of the smallest local bars I’ve ever visited, accompanied by some excellent cassava chips.
