I am LIVE from the Brooklyn Caribbean Literary Festival, listening to an important conversation about the Black Atlantic—our history, our literature, our movement across nations, and the stories that continue to connect Black and Caribbean people. Tonight’s conversation takes us into histories shaped by Africa, slavery, the Caribbean, Haiti, Louisiana, migration, resistance and survival—and asks what those histories mean for us today. For me, this connects directly to DIGNITY FOR ALL. Dignity includes knowing where we came from, preserving our history, telling our own stories, educating the next generation, and refusing to allow suffering to be the only thing that defines our people.
