The hurricane severely damaged the hospital, necessitating extensive reconstruction and repairs to critical healthcare facilities. The restoration works include rebuilt male and female surgical wards, upgraded operating theatres and new staff quarters, alongside improvements designed to support patient care and healthcare delivery. The reconstructed surgical wards have contributed to an increase in the hospital’s bed capacity from 150 to 180, helping to expand accommodation for patients.
