ASMR | How to Order Wine (Without Looking Foolish)

A special shoutout to Darren Lutz, who was a sommelier at Joël Robuchon in Las Vegas back around 2007. Darren treated my brother and me to an unbelievable experience that was capped off with a 1976 Grand Cru Burgundy (I think…) that remains one of the most extraordinary wines I've ever tasted. Nearly twenty years later, I still remember the amber color and aromas of tobacco and cloves. Darren, if you're out there, thank you for creating such a wonderful memory. It’s literally one of my favorite stories. And if anyone knows him, please let him know how much I appreciated that evening.
