What if sanitation services were designed around what people actually want?
In this video, hear from Abigail Aruna about the evolution of Clean Team Ghana, a sanitation enterprise that emerged from a WSUP initiative in Kumasi. Developed using human-centred design principles, Clean Team started by asking residents in low-income communities a simple question: what kind of toilet would you choose for your home?
The result was an innovative sanitation service designed to meet customer needs while creating a financially viable model for expanding safe sanitation access. Today, Clean Team demonstrates how customer-focused approaches can help transform urban sanitation, delivering dignity, convenience and improved quality of life for thousands of households.
Discover how WSUP and its partners helped pioneer a new approach to sanitation—one that puts people, demand and sustainability at the centre of the solution.
