Episode 590 Train Sim World 7: Isle of Wight 2022 - UK 🇬🇧 From Shanklin to Ryde Pier Head For the past 50 years, the Island Line, which traverses from the water-lapped Ryde Pier Head to Shanklin, has been uniquely operated by otherwise life-expired London Underground tube stock. 1967 saw the introduction of the Standard Stock, given new life as the Class 485 and 486, which were then replaced in 1989 with the Class 483, from old 1938 stock. Being over 80 years old, however, the 483s were in dire need of replacement. An order for five Vivarail D-Trains was placed; platforms were rebuilt, track was altered, and new signaling was installed. Following months of upgrades and testing, the new BR Class 484 entered service in November 2021. The train is Vivarail 484 Electric Multiple Unit, originally manufactured in the late 1970s and early 1980s by Metro-Cammell with a 750V DC Third Rail engine, and the train has 2 passenger wagons and the weight of the train is 54.9 tons, and its 37.4 meters (40.9 yards) and AWSIS, DSDID, DRAIS, TPFIS, and TPWS is on and the train operator is Department for Transport.
