I rebuilt the Blitz Warlord—originally created using an older version—by incorporating the "Awakened Stonefather" set.
Since the base stats (such as OA and DA) were already sufficiently high, I focused the Ascended bonuses on skill activation mechanics. Specifically, I carefully selected the "Blitz cooldown reduction on attack while Fighting Spirit is active" bonus, tuning it to achieve an activation rate of over 75%. (It actually feels like I can spam the skill even at 50%, so I might have gone a bit overboard there.)
It triggers more consistently than the cooldown reduction provided by the set bonus upon landing a critical hit with Vire's Might.
One might suggest using the "Bloodbriar's Thorn" amulet to reduce the Blitz cooldown, but I opted for the new "Memento of the Midwinter" item instead; it offers +1 to Soldier skills and includes a boost to total speed as a standard stat.
While it is possible to obtain total speed boosts on Monster Infrequent (MI) items with the right affixes, the benefit of the +1 to Mastery skills is simply too significant to pass up.
As for Vire's Might*, the skill's actual feel in combat leaves something to be desired, so I treat it strictly as a tool for mobility and triggering set bonuses; I allocate any spare points to *Empyrion instead to help boost damage output.
(That’s why I chose Gravath's Legguards with a +3 bonus to Celestial Presence for the pants slot.)
For the weapon affixes, I chose "Earthbound" for the armor-boosting skill. Regarding physical damage,
since I couldn't find an affix that specifically matched my active skills, I went with "Sanctification," which provides a boost to all damage and increased damage against Chthonians.
The base armor value exceeds 4,000, but it climbs to over 6,000 when item and constellation skills activate.
I feel secure even when surrounded by melee-focused bosses.
(My health rarely drops low enough to trigger *Menhir's Will*, so you might want to reallocate those points to another skill depending on your preference.)
By leveraging the durability of the shield, I could aggressively charge in with the SR to deal internal damage before moving to the next point, making boss encounters go smoothly.
I was able to achieve a good clear time without relying on any special maps.
In the fight against Dread, you can easily withstand any attack other than the rapid thrusts and the wide-swinging claw slash; however, since the enemy heals itself by hitting you while the damaging floor hazard is active, it is faster to lure it out of that area.
