In the year 1202, vampire elders Markus, Viktor, and Amelia capture William Corvinus, the first powerful werewolf, imprisoning him indefinitely. In the present, Markus seeks the pendant halves owned by Michael and Selene, key to William's prison. The historian Andreas Tanis reveals that Markus was the first vampire, William the first werewolf, and a third brother remained human, birthing Michael's lineage.
