He Saw Naaman Healed Then Became A Leper

He watched Naaman’s leprosy disappear in a miracle from God—but moments later, Gehazi made a decision that would change his life forever. The story of *Gehazi and Naaman* is one of the Bible’s most powerful warnings about greed, temptation, deception, and the danger of allowing wealth to control the heart. Naaman was a powerful commander of the army of Aram, but behind his position and reputation was a disease he could not defeat. After hearing about the prophet Elisha, he traveled to Israel seeking healing. What happened next became one of the Bible’s most remarkable miracles. Naaman obeyed the prophet's command to wash in the Jordan seven times, and his diseased flesh was restored. Grateful for what God had done, Naaman offered Elisha silver, gold, and clothing. But Elisha refused. Gehazi was watching. And when he saw the wealth disappearing into the distance, something changed inside him. He ran after Naaman. What began as a pursuit of silver quickly became a chain of lies, deception, and concealment. But Gehazi did not realize that although he could deceive Naaman, he could not hide the truth from Elisha. This powerful *Bible story of Gehazi and Naaman* reveals the contrast between a man who humbled himself before God and a man who stood close to God's miracles but allowed greed to control his choices. What happened to Gehazi? Why did Elisha refuse Naaman's gifts? And why did Gehazi's pursuit of wealth end in such a devastating judgment?
