Growing Old with Star Wars | A Lifetime of Fandom in Music

Star Wars has been part of my life for almost as long as I can remember. What started with a kid staring into a galaxy far beyond his own world became something much bigger over the decades. Today there are Darth Vader shirts filling my closet, vintage toys filling the basement, and more collectibles arriving now than when I was young enough to actually play with them. But this music is really about something deeper. Star Wars became one of the lenses through which I learned to look at people, leadership, power, loyalty, risk and decision-making. I’ve seen a few Empires in meeting rooms, a few Rebels nobody expected to succeed, and more than one enormous plan with an overlooked weak point. Yoda influenced the way I think about committing to a decision. The droids reminded me that the people doing the unnoticed work are often the ones keeping everything running. And somehow, after all these years, that kid looking toward the stars is still there. I thought I was growing up with Star Wars.
