Veil of Frost

The sky cracked open A frozen scream The earth held secrets Trapped in a dream A veil of frost where the sun won’t tread Whispers of love Now words of the dead Footprints vanish in the snow Cold winds carry what we’ll never know Veil of frost It covers me Shadows crawl where light can’t see Every step It cuts so deep Frozen hearts don’t dare to weep A river of ice It flows through veins Memories shatter like windowpanes Your voice It lingers A ghostly hymn A melody lost in the winter’s grim Oh Frostbite prayers on a brittle tongue The air is sharp And the nights are young We built our love on this icy ground But the thaw came late And we both drowned Veil of frost It covers me Shadows crawl where light can’t see Every step It cuts so deep Frozen hearts don’t dare to weep #rock #gothic #metal #melancholie #darkrock #sadmusic #femalevocalist
