Within the Forest, Within the Mind – Calming Ambient Guitar

This was actually supposed to be a session recorded at home. After all the rain lately, that seemed like the obvious choice. But then the sun came out, and it felt too good not to go outside. For this session I wanted to let the chords ring out for longer. Sometimes the silence between two notes almost feels uncomfortable — when will the next note come? There is no rhythm, no metronome, nothing telling me when to play. It simply comes from the moment. And yes, there are mistakes again. But for me, that is part of these sessions. I enjoyed every minute of it. During almost an hour of recording, the weather kept changing. First darker, then sunlight, then clouds again. A lot happened around me, but also within me. Maybe we are not so different from the weather. Our thoughts change too. Sometimes there is doubt, sometimes there is a quiet confidence that everything is exactly where it needs to be. Within the Forest, Within the Mind. I hope you can find your own moment of stillness in this session.
