And the dad looked down at the boy, saw the game in his hands, remembered his time in the coast guard and said, smugly, "We have Resident Evil 4 at home." There was a time when the gameplay style that was popularized by Resident Evil and Silent Hill that revolutionized the horror gaming genre and is still widely beloved today actually was considered a bit of old hat that needed to change. That change came in the form of Resident Evil 4 for many. But not a lot of people mention the other game that tried many of the same things. Namely "Cold Fear", the Darkworks-developed story of a coast guard sent to investigate a zombie-infested ship only to discover a much more terrifying truth of parasites and science. Derided at the time as a shameless ripoff of its more succesful cousin, Cold Fear has been largely forgotten... but is it really such a bad game after all?
