The main character is Sabreman, a fearless adventurer who finds himself in a vast, dangerous jungle full of wild creatures, traps, and mysteries. His task is to find the four pieces of a magical amulet that have been hidden in various corners of the tropical labyrinth. Once the amulet is complete, the hero must give it to the guardian to open a path out of the jungle. During his journey, Sabreman encounters numerous creatures, collects treasures, and makes use of the extraordinary properties of flowers that can grant him temporary abilities. He can defeat smaller monsters with his sword, but he often has to flee from larger beasts—especially the eponymous Sabre Wulf, who cannot be harmed by an ordinary blade. Another danger is a brush fire, which forces the player to keep moving.
