Büssing AG existed from 1903 until 1971, when the company was bought by MAN. Over time, Büssing became one of the largest manufacturers of buses and trucks. A lion was the distinctive company logo, incidentally an allusion to the company's headquarters in Braunschweig, the Lion City. Helmut Hoffmann, the classic car enthusiast is currently restoring a Büssing 8000.
