Invite to the marriage feast as many as you find. Matthew 22: 1-14

TODAY’S REFLECTION The banquet of finest wine and food is used to describe the peace and joy of the kingdom of God by the prophet Isaiah and Jesus in the gospel text, but two things we must learn from the reading. Firstly, the presence of abundance unlimited and secondly our preparedness to enter this kingdom. St Paul reassures us that God’s presence gives us plenty of unlimited blessings despite distress and hardship whereas Jesus tells us that to be admitted into this kingdom of plentiful abundance we must be prepared in righteousness. People go to church for various reasons among which is social status or pressure. Are you one of those who occupy the spaces in religious assemblies but are not truly prepared to live a holy life? The word of God is addressed to you, to those who proclaim God’s word but are not with their wedding garment on, they are not holy enough. Many are called but few are chosen. Are you among the chosen ones or are you a lip service and bodily presence Christian? We must be prepared to inherit the peace and joy of the kingdom of God. This preparation entails accepting the word of God and not persecuting ministers of the word.
