IMAX 1570 DUNE PART TWO & standard 70mm + HMV Oxford Street and FOPP Covent Garden

This is a preview of the DUNE PART TWO 15/70 IMAX print at the BFI IMAX which,as I type, I still want to get up to see before all the screenings are over. It's a blow-up from a 4K digital video master so I'm not expecting OPPENHEIMER quality but it was shot with about an hour of 1.43:1 aspect ratio so it should still be quite a special IMAX viewing experience. A new 4K digital video projector was in the process of being installed by Michael Ford at the time of my visit and we also take a look at the dual gauge 70mm/35mm Century projector which I hope will be in use for the 2025 BFI FIlm On Film Festival which was such a success as an inaugural event at the Southbank in 2023. The Prince Charles Cinema just off Leicester Square in the West End of London has one of the standard 70mm prints of DUNE PART TWO and they are still screening that at the time of typing. There are also opportunities to see it as a double bill with a 4K video projection of the first DUNE film from 2021. Also showing is David Lynch's original DUNE film as a 4K projection. No trip to London would be complete without a visit to HMV on Oxford Street and also to FOPP just off Cambridge Circus so both these great physical media stores are included as well as the purchases I made in each. So this video is quite a pot pourri of all things cinema and home cinema and I hope you find it enjoyable.
