Closer to Yes

Every “no” can feel heavy when you’re working toward something that matters. “Closer to Yes” is a song about holding onto hope and continuing to show up, even when the answers are discouraging. Inspired by the journey of seeking support for CEA Homeless Ministries’ Building Bridges to Stability program, this song celebrates persistence—and the people who give us a reason to keep going. Behind every application is the hope of helping someone overcome a housing barrier, find stability, and begin again. The setbacks are real, but so is the work still worth doing. With gratitude to the Rota Foundation, whose founding grant helped turn that hope into practical support. For anyone facing closed doors, chasing a meaningful goal, or waiting for a breakthrough: may this song give you strength for your next step.
