Songs Of Testimony Larry & Sandy Black 1968
We'll Talk It Over
You are about to hear a dream come true. This album of twelve carefully selected hymns and Gospel melodies has been a dream of Sandy and Larry Black's for many years. It also has been the dream of countless thousands of friends all across this great country who have requested this album to be made. Well ...it is no longer a dream but a reality. A reality so alive you're bound to be caught up in the spirit of each of these familiar and best loved melodies. Through his ministry of music at the Roswell St. Baptist Church, in Marietta, Georgia, Larry Black has built one of the most dynamic music programs ever conceived, with a total music enrollment of over 600 members. A good music program does not just happen. Countless hours of planning go into every presentation from the Sunday morning anthem to the Youth Choir "concert,' and yes, even to the Sunday night solo-Larry Black's labours do not go un-rewarded. His special appeal to the youth of the community has resulted in one of the most respected youth choirs in the country. His summer tours with this choir along with an instrumental ensemble, have caused this group to be much sought after with invitations from churches all over America.
Sandy in the role of the wife does much to enhance the success of a music department. Without her cooperation and understanding, Larry could not undertake some of the extracurricular activities which they both feel are so important and pleasing to God. Sandy's love for Larry and the two boys, Greg and Allan, are exceeded only by the love she has for God.
Countless hours of prayer have gone into the selection of material for this album. Several good "takes" fell by the way-side because in the opinion of Larry or Sandy, that special feeling was missing. This is truly an album that every member of the family will want to enjoy, time after time, after time. This is a new experience for Sandy and Larry Black; I'm sure that after hearing this very talented couple, you'll share in my opinion that it cannot and definitely will not be their last.
