Women's organisations and activists march to Delhi Police Headquarters in New Delhi on October 17, 2026, demanding action against police personnel accused of sexual harassment and violence against women and transgender protesters during demonstrations over the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls. The participating groups, including AIDWA, NFIW, AIPWA and ALIFA, seek accountability and legal action against those accused. The protest is also linked to demands for the resignation of Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar over alleged electoral irregularities. Delhi Police has previously rejected allegations of mistreatment during detentions.
