Röö guitars #004 - neck part 3 (carving)

Carving the neck using faceting method. Also shaping the heel and the headstock transitions. A fair bit of sanding done as well and rounding off fretboard edges. The faceting method: thicknessing the neck between the 1st and 15th fret to desired thickness. Typically, for a nice C shape, this would be 21mm on the 1st and 23mm on the 15th fret. I like my necks more chunky, so I went with 22,5mm and 24mm find the centreline on the thicknessed surface divide both sides in half (between the centreline and the edge) - mark as straight lines mark straight lines 2mm from the fretboard edge (towards the new thicknessed surface) create the first facet between the two lines divide both sides of the original thicknessed surface in half between the centreline and new edges (edges of the first facet). Create straight lines transfer the measurement onto the first facet (using the edge of the first facet as the centre) and create a straight line on the first facet create the second facet between the two lines (taking the first facet edge off) on the other edge of the fist facet, mark a line 2mm from the edge create the third facet between the fretboard edge and the new line (taking the second edge of the first facet off) round over the new facets Depending on the neck profile required, you may want to adjust the measurements a bit. For example, if you want more of a D shape than C, mark the first facet more towards the original edges of the neck on both, back and sides. This will bring the curve out a bit. If you want more of a V shape, do the opposite and bring the facet closer to the centreline.
