Welcome to Child of Freydis — a world of Viking music, cinematic storytelling, and the legacy of the North. Salt and Soil is a cinematic Viking female duet about *Ylva*, shaped by the sea, and another northern woman shaped by the land. One carries storms, longships, and battle; the other carries harvests, horses, healing, and home. Through hardship and reunion, their different worlds become one shared story of loyalty, friendship, and northern heritage. Driven by female duet vocals, tagelharpa, Nordic percussion, dark strings, and layered choirs, Salt and Soil is another chapter in Ylva’s journey — where sea and land finally meet. 🐺 The channel follows Ylva, a fictional daughter inspired by the legendary Viking woman Freydis, through stories of war, loyalty, loss, survival, family, longships, wolves, ancient forests, and distant northern lands. 🎵 The sound is rooted in dark, cinematic Viking-Slavic neofolk, with the tagelharpa as a defining instrument alongside bowed lyre, frame drums, davul, low toms, dark strings, wooden flutes, horns, drones, distant bells, throat-singing textures, and layered ancestral background choirs. 🎙️ Powerful female vocals remain at the heart of the music — sometimes intimate and mournful, other times commanding and fierce. 🎬 Every music video is built around storytelling, with recurring characters, relationships, battles, journeys, and connected events. Some songs will stand alone, while others may grow into multi-song cinematic stories and full series. 🌲 If you enjoy Viking music, Nordic folk atmosphere, tagelharpa, female vocals, and story-driven music videos, you’ll feel at home here. 🔔 Subscribe and follow Ylva’s story as the world of Child of Freydis continues to grow. May the old songs never be forgotten:)
