The last service of 2016 brings big feelings and even bigger personalities. 29-year-old operations manager Yasmin arrives with a checklist and a love for avocados, ordering a coca verde avocado cocktail. She meets 31-year-old Ryan, who manages dental and facial clinics and quickly notices her great teeth, offers floss, and admits he once got engaged too fast. Between laughs, Yasmin opens up about being cheated on, and the pair talk second dates. High-end caterer Mandy sweeps in with a pink bird in her hair and stories of serving Princess Anne. Her match, Robert, deals in antique carpets and once sold a rug for £2 million. They bond over long marriages, grandchildren, and star signs, but agree they are better as friends. Events manager Roisin, a self-described party girl who once ended up on Axl Rose's tour bus, meets Johnny, a software account manager and band manager. He has LA stories, the Mondrian on speed dial, and a surprising dislike of garlic. She loves theatre; he has never been. It is fun, but it is friendship. Decadence calls for Scott, an embroidery designer whose work touches the Royal Family, and Jim from the Royal Academy of Arts, who turns up in an embroidered shirt featuring Biggie and Frida Kahlo. Eccentricities click, and talk of jewels and exhibitions hints at a promising follow-up. Old-fashioned romantic Mehmet, a Turkish window cleaner and cafe co-owner, brings flowers for makeup artist Sophie, who jokes she wants a naddie boy - part nice, part bad. They get on, but the spark is missing. After 111 dates and 70 matches this year, there is still magic left: one couple says yes to seeing each other again and even plans Christmas together.
