Green City, Clean Waters (long form part 1)

This 30 minute video provides and overview of Green City, Clean Waters, the Philadelphia Water Department's (PWD) 25 year plan to reduce Combined Sewer Overflows (CSOs) using primarily green stormwater infrastructure. Green stormwater infrastructure includes a range of soil-water-plant systems that intercept stormwater, infiltrate a portion of it into the ground, evaporate a portion of it into the air, and in some cases, release a portion of it slowly back into the sewer system. On June 1, 2011, the PA Department of Environmental Protection (PADEP) and PWD signed a groundbreaking agreement that allows the PWD to officially launch the implementation of its innovative strategy.
