In Kagawa Prefecture, Japan, there is Naoshima Island, known throughout the world as an Island of Art, which is visited daily by contemporary art enthusiasts from around the world. The story of how Naoshima came to be known as an Island of Art goes back to the 1980s. Soichiro Fukutake, now chairman of the Fukutake Foundation, took over his father's business and at the same time promoted his father's cultural vision for Naoshima. As Soichiro Fukutake toured the beautiful Seto Inland Sea on his own boat, he realized the warmth of people's hearts and the importance of history, which are not found in big cities. “Modern society is dominated by capitalist money- and material-centered thinking and lacks the concept of being people-centered.” Soichiro Fukutake saw the beautiful scenery created by the Seto Inland Sea and felt a sense of crisis toward modern society. He then devised and implemented a plan to exhibit works of contemporary art that would radiate a message through the natural setting of Naoshima. In "Out of Bounds," a special exhibition held in 1994, art works were displayed in the natural environment of the island. Artists who exhibited their works included such up-and-coming artists as Yayoi Kusama, Hiroshi Sugimoto, Shinro Otake, Kazuo Katase, Takashi Murakami, and Takuya Matsunoki. In addition, Richard Long, Jannis Kounellis, Walter De Maria, James Turrell, and others also visited Naoshima to create site-specific works of art that are unique to the island. I shot this video in June 2022. I had returned to Japan from a foreign country where I spent 3 years and uploaded this video to a channel that was the predecessor of this channel, hoping to share the wonders of Naoshima and the Setouchi region through YouTube. However, I decided to remake the video and present it here because I thought it fit the concept of my channel, Setouchi Ambiance, better than the channel I used to run. Thank you for watching and have a good day! Subscribing to your channel will motivate me to create the next video.    / @setouchiambience   4k ASMR | Walking in the Rain on Mt.Yashima, Japan | Binaural Rain Sounds for Sleep and Study    • 4k ASMR | Walking in the Rain on Mt.Yashim...   Playlists Seto Inland Sea Ambience - https://x.gd/tPipj Rain Walks - https://x.gd/HBvqF Rainy Japanese Gardens of Setouchi – ASMR Ambience & Walking Tours - https://x.gd/l6EJd Sakura & Rain Walks - https://x.gd/sXYfT Midnight Rain Walks in the Setouchi Region - https://x.gd/mF2IH Shikoku Pilgrimage in the Rain – ASMR Temple Walks & Nature Sounds - https://x.gd/DYVEc Thunderstorm Walks in Japan – Rain, Lightning, and Nature ASMR - https://x.gd/vzHRN Waterfall Walks - https://x.gd/oRyNM Kagawa Ambience - https://x.gd/DG0gG Okayama Ambience - https://x.gd/KmK2z Visit my Filming Diary Discover behind-the-scenes stories, shooting locations, and travel notes from Setouchi Ambience. https://www.setouchiambiance.online #asmrsounds #rainsounds #rainsoundsforsleeping #contemporaryart #直島
