Expressions #149": Teri Mehfil A Kathak duet by Aishwarya Banerjee & Preetha Putatunda

On the occasion of Valentines day, MusicNamaste presents this beautiful and graceful Kathak duet presentation called "Teri Mehefil". This is a featured presentation by two very talented artists: Aishwarya Banerjee and Preetha Putatunda, disciples of Shri Avirup Sarkar. This dance is choreographed by Sri.Avirup Sarkar. The composition is "Tere Mehfil" composed by Pt. Birju Maharaj ji. It presents romanticism along with the grandeur of Nawabi Court, along with a rhythmic tarana at the end. Aishwarya Banerjee is a promising dancer of Lucknow Gharana in the field of Kathak. She started her training on a very tender age from her guru Shri.Avirup Sarkar. Later she continued her training under many more renowned gurus of Lucknow Gharana through workshop.She completed her master's degree in Kathak dance and she has a degree of "Sangeet Visharadh" from Pracheen Kala Kendra, Chandigarh. Preetha, a Kathak dancer of “LUCKNOW” gharana started her journey from a very initial age under the guidance of Sri. Avirup Sarkar and has an experience of 9 years learning .She completed “Sangeet-Visarad” 5th year degree from Pracheen Kala Kendra,Chandigarh. She also performed on doordarshan at a very primitive age and worked on dance-drama project named “Shap-mochon” directed by Avirup Sarkar. She is a regular dancing member of Omkaar School of Dance & Music. Beside that she has 5 years teaching experience on Omkaar School of Dance & Music .She worked as a choreographer on Goenka College.
