Light Bearer (Official Audio)

Original Song Lyrics by Shawn Westerberg Produced by Shawn Westerberg WORDS Light Bearer [Verse 1] You left your red scarf on the porch rail November tried to steal it away I caught it running past the mailbox And kept the color for a rainy day You laughed when I brought it to your doorway Said, “You always notice what I lose” I said, “I notice every little reason This old heart keeps choosing you” [Pre-Chorus] When the road runs out of answers When the miles turn cold and wide You put your hand into my hand And every dark road takes your side [Chorus] You’re my light bearer, my morning through the rain Your love turns every winding mile into a home again Shining your love, shining your love Like a porch lamp calling me in You’re my light bearer, the true north in my chest Shining your love, shining your love And I’m the luckiest man alive when you say, “Stay” [Verse 2] We take the two-lane past the river Windows down, your hair in the breeze You sing the wrong words to the old songs And somehow make them sound like they’re for me At the county fair you stole my jacket Though the summer heat was hanging high Then you leaned your head against my shoulder And made that whole loud world go quiet [Pre-Chorus] When the plans fall out of season When the sky forgets its blue I don’t need a map to find my way I just look for you [Chorus] You’re my light bearer, my morning through the rain Your love turns every winding mile into a home again Shining your love, shining your love Like a porch lamp calling me in You’re my light bearer, the true north in my chest Shining your love, shining your love And I’m the luckiest man alive when you say, “Stay” [Instrumental: fiery melodic electric-guitar solo] [Bridge] If time puts silver in our stories If the years redraw our view I’ll still know the sound of your footsteps And save the first dance just for you No grand promise made for strangers Just this truth I’ll keep on proving: Every ordinary day beside you Is the life I dreamed of living [Final Chorus] You’re my light bearer, my morning through the rain Your love turns every winding mile into a home again Shining your love, shining your love Like a porch lamp calling me in You’re my light bearer, the true north in my chest Shining your love, shining your love You’re my light bearer, and I’m right where I belong Shining your love, shining your love I’ll be choosing you as long as this heart beats on [Outro] You’re my light bearer Shining your love You’re my light bearer And I’m coming home to you
