Band of H.M. Coldstream Guards/Rogan - Marche Russe ('Ballet Russe' - Luigini) (1909)

The Band of H.M. Coldstream Guards, conducted by John Mackenzie Rogan (1855-1932) plays 'Marche Russe,' the final movement from 'Ballet Russe' by French composer Alexandre Luigini (1850-1906), recorded at 31 City Road, London, on 29 June 1909 and transferred by me from HMV C 117. Rogan became Director of Music of the Coldstream Guards in 1896 and remained in that position until his retirement in 1920. Listen after the end of the music and you'll hear someone make a comment, which I can't quite make out!
