Dahliengarten Altona (Dahlia Garden) in Hamburg has a history of more than 100 years. The first dahlias were planted here in 1920, and since 1932 the garden has been located at its present site in Altona Volkspark. Created under the direction of garden director Ferdinand Tutenberg, it has grown into one of Europe’s oldest surviving dahlia gardens, with more than 600 varieties and over 11,000 plants.
