🔥 𝗦𝗧𝗘𝗥𝗡𝗚𝗨𝗔𝗥𝗗 𝗩𝗘𝗧𝗘𝗥𝗔𝗡𝗦 – 𝗡𝗘𝗥𝗙𝗘𝗗 𝗜𝗡 𝟭𝟭𝗧𝗛 𝗘𝗗𝗜𝗧𝗜𝗢𝗡?! Are Sternguard Veterans still worth taking in Warhammer 40K 11th Edition, or have Space Marines lost one of their most dangerous infantry units? Welcome back to Ixios Gaming and another Daily Space Marine Unit Review! These elite Space Marine veterans have undergone some MASSIVE changes with the new Codex. Gone are the Devastating Wounds and powerful Oath of Moment combinations that allowed them to bring down Primarchs, Knights and other terrifying targets. But in their place, we've gained something interesting: versatile combi-weapons with three different shooting profiles! ⚔️ 𝗪𝗛𝗔𝗧'𝗦 𝗖𝗛𝗔𝗡𝗚𝗘𝗗 𝗜𝗡 𝟭𝟭𝗧𝗛 𝗘𝗗𝗜𝗧𝗜𝗢𝗡? 💰 𝗣𝗼𝗶𝗻𝘁𝘀 & 𝗦𝘁𝗮𝘁𝘀 Now costing 105 points for five models or 210 points for ten, Sternguard Veterans have gained Toughness 5 for just a small points increase. 🎯 𝗡𝗲𝘄 𝗗𝗮𝘁𝗮𝘀𝗵𝗲𝗲𝘁 𝗥𝘂𝗹𝗲 Gone are the devastating wound combinations and full wound rerolls against Oath of Moment targets. Instead, Sternguard now reroll Hit rolls of 1 for ranged attacks. More consistent, but considerably less exciting! 🔫 𝗡𝗲𝘄 𝗖𝗼𝗺𝗯𝗶-𝗪𝗲𝗮𝗽𝗼𝗻𝘀 Three different shooting profiles give Sternguard Veterans incredible flexibility: 🔥 Infernus rounds – Rapid Fire 2 for clearing hordes of Termagants, Guardsmen and Orks. 💥 Perditor rounds – Strength 7, AP-2 and Damage 2 for taking down Space Marines and elite infantry. ⚡ Melta profile – Strength 9, AP-3 and D3+2 damage, with Melta 2, for tackling Terminators, monsters and lighter vehicles. 💣 𝗛𝗲𝗮𝘃𝘆 𝗪𝗲𝗮𝗽𝗼𝗻𝘀 Heavy bolters with Rapid Fire 2 and Sustained Hits offer some serious firepower, while the pyrecannon provides another option for burning through enemy infantry. 👊 𝗠𝗲𝗹𝗲𝗲 𝗣𝗼𝘁𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗶𝗮𝗹 Four attacks per model with ceramite fists and additional weapon options for the sergeant mean Sternguard can still put up a respectable fight in close combat. 🚀 𝗧𝗔𝗖𝗧𝗜𝗖𝗦 & 𝗦𝗬𝗡𝗘𝗥𝗚𝗜𝗘𝗦 Sternguard Veterans really want to get into Rapid Fire range to maximise their damage output. With the changes to transport rules, they can now ride in a Rhino, making it easier to deliver their firepower where it's needed. Characters such as Lieutenants and Captains can also provide useful buffs, improving their damage output and battlefield flexibility. ⭐ 𝗠𝗬 𝗙𝗜𝗡𝗔𝗟 𝗩𝗘𝗥𝗗𝗜𝗖𝗧: 𝟯/𝟱 Sternguard Veterans have gone from devastating specialist killers to versatile, jack-of-all-trades infantry. They've gained flexibility, but have they lost too much of what made them special? As an Ultramarines player who loved using these guys in 10th Edition, I'm definitely going to give them a try. But right now, they're sitting at a 3/5 for me. 💬 𝗟𝗘𝗧'𝗦 𝗛𝗘𝗔𝗥 𝗙𝗥𝗢𝗠 𝗬𝗢𝗨! Are Sternguard Veterans better or worse in 11th Edition? And most importantly, which Space Marine unit should I review next? 👇 Drop your thoughts in the comments! 👍 LIKE if you enjoyed the review! 🔔 SUBSCRIBE for daily Warhammer 40K Space Marine unit reviews, tactics, army lists and battle reports! 🎮 Follow Ixios Gaming on TikTok: @ixiosgaming \#Warhammer40K #SpaceMarines #SternguardVeterans #Warhammer11thEdition #Ultramarines #IxiosGaming
