Step into LAGOS 77 — an imaginary independent radio studio broadcasting above the streets of Lagos in 1977.
This 55-minute instrumental journey blends warm 1970s Afro-funk, interlocking highlife guitar and restrained analog dub. Two clean electric guitars weave around deep bass, dry live drums, conga, shekere, cowbell, short organ stabs, muted horn punches, tape echo and spring reverb.
The same studio remains throughout the album while the room changes around the music: open windows and afternoon heat, a packed redline session, tropical rain on a tin roof, the final broadcast, pale dawn — and a ceiling fan still turning after everyone has gone.
Original music for deep listening, creative work, relaxed evenings and anyone drawn to hypnotic live grooves, vintage recording rooms and imagined musical worlds.
