GET READY WITH ME ~ Beauty Short Film

SPEC FILM FOR YSL BEAUTY A short beauty film shot on Bolex 16mm, created as an independent spec piece for YSL Beauty. The film was inspired by a student film Martin Scorsese made in 1964. I loved the camerawork, pacing, humor, vintage texture and especially the raw sound design and crackling voiceover. We took that feeling as a starting point and translated it into our own story, dialogue and visual world. That inspiration eventually shaped everything from the decision to shoot on 16mm to the pacing, performance and sound design of the final film.
