The Real Origin of Hachishakusama, Japan's Slender Man

Here's a ready-to-paste description: --- *In 2008, someone posted a scary story on a Japanese internet forum — nine parts, written like it actually happened to them. That post created Hachishakusama, one of the most disturbing figures in modern horror, and she's still spreading nearly two decades later.* The legend: an eight-foot-tall woman in white, watching from the edge of a property, who never loses interest once she's noticed you. The only way to survive her, the story says, isn't fighting back — it's running, and never looking back. But unlike centuries-old folklore, we actually know exactly when and how this one was born — and her story runs eerily parallel to another modern horror icon created the very same year, on the other side of the world.
