Magical Land: Copland Track to Architect Creek Hut | Backpacking New Zealand South Island Adventure

Day 61: an amazing day out on trail. Out of a fairytale! It was super fun to have a hostel buddy with me for the day (she went on to Welcome Flats Hut for her reservation that night; my reservation was for the next night). The large amounts of rain made the trail pretty wet, muddy, and slick. In dry conditions it would be a little easier, but I wouldn’t call this “easy” overall. Definitely a good ole New Zealand track. The scenery was stunning. I loved it! We did get many emails from DOC in the days leading up to this hike warning that they may close the track due to flooding, so I called them to be sure and all was open for this trek.
