Lancaster OLD ORDER AMISH FARMER Servicing Vintage Corn Chopper and CHOPPING SILAGE With Horses

Before each day of corn chopping the vintage corn chopper needs servicing. Here you will watch the farmer sharpening the blades, greasing all zerks, lubricating the chains and adjusting belts. This daily ritual during harvest takes between 30-45 minutes depending if the chopper was cleaned out the previous afternoon. We also watch a team of horses pull a cart fitted with a 175 hp diesel engine to power the chopper. The horses are actually be held back as their normal walk would be a bit too fast for the chopper to handle.
