Singer, Composer, Pandeirista, GraffitMan, Dj and percussionist, MC TIKOGÒ or Adriano (Gótico), is originally from the Itapuã neighborhood, in Salvador de Bahia. He started playing music as a child with "broomsticks" and home made drums. It's at the age of 17, after performing on stage with the great Nana Vasconcelos, that he decided to become a professional musician. He then studied with such masters as Lula Nascimento, Eddu Nascimento et Anuniciação, and is nowadays constantly experimenting, practicing and working on pushing the boundaries of one of his favorite instrument: the Pandeiro. Marcos Suzano invited him to open for the PERCPAN music festival in Salvador de Bahia where MC Tikogó decides to relocate to Rio de Janeiro for one year. He is soon performing with some of the most interesting new-comers on the "Música Popular Brasileira" scene, such as: Carlos Malta,Marcus Suzano,Carlinhos Brow,Terreiro Circular, Nação Zumbi, Mestre Salustiano, Buginha Dub, Chico César ou Otto. His fantastic virtuosity and unusually rich musical constellation (Hip-Hop, BrazilianAfro music,Dub, Funk, Rock etc.) will open up doors for work in various foreign countries, with reknown artists such as Bobby Mac Ferrin, Toni Allen ou Mike Ellis,Krs One. Always willing to travel, and make new friends, he now resides between Berlin and Barcelona, where he just recorded Ojos de Brujo's latest opus. He is also playing with one of Cuba's up-and-coming artist: Kumar.
