FIRST THINGS FIRST Jesus tells us to seek God’s kingdom and His righteousness first, trusting our Father for the necessities of life. The promise of provision follows the priority of the Kingdom. We often want God to take first place in our problems while giving Him last place in our decisions. Jesus calls us to reverse that order! Seeking His Kingdom means asking: “God, what do You want? What honors You? What does obedience look like here?” His righteousness reaches beyond Sunday worship into our choices, relationships, business, and private lives. And look at the context: Jesus is speaking about worry—what we will eat, drink, and wear. “All these things” points to those needs. This is confidence in the Father’s care, not a promise that every desire becomes ours. KEYS: First means first—not whatever time is left! Don’t let the pressure of your needs become the ruler of your life. Seek His face, follow His ways, and trust His care. Faith doesn’t make you irresponsible; it frees you to obey without being ruled by fear. Your need is real—but your Father already knows! Declaration: “Father, Your Kingdom comes first. Your ways shape my decisions. I will do what You have given me to do and trust You with what I cannot control!”
