Church of Our Lady of the Assumption in Magherafelt in County Derry

Church of Our Lady of the Assumption is a Roman Catholic Church located in the town of Magherafelt in County Derry. Work started on this church in 1879. It was dedicated on September 10th, 1882, by Dr McGettigan, Archbishop of Armagh and the sermon  preached by the Bishop of Raphoe Dr Logue, later Cardinal Logue, Archbishop of Armagh. It was designed by O'Neill & Byrne. It was built by Matthew McClelland, Derry. The carvings in this church are the work of J. Earley, Dublin. A new wing to the Church in 1981. It is one of three churches in Magherafelt Parish in the Archdiocese of Armagh.
