QBD Ch 7 Book Club Review: "Lola In The Mirror" with Trent Dalton

Vic and Lee discuss with bestselling author, Trent Dalton, about his brand-new title "Lola In The Mirror". ABOUT THE BOOK: 'Mirror, mirror, on the grass, what's my future? What's my past? This colourful novel follows a girl, who dreams of being a world-famous artist, and her mother, who both have been on the run for the last sixteen years. The mother and daughter now reside in a community of displaced people beside the Brisbane River, where they call a 1987 Toyota HiAce van home. The daughter has no name because names are dangerous when the police are after you and your mother has left a knife in the throat of the monster in the kitchen... The story shines an important light on the harsh reality of homelessness, domestic violence, and Australian residents who are trying their best to survive each day. We can guarantee you will be invested in the protagonist’s journey through hope, friendship, and heartbreak until the very last page.
