Why the tires and wheel were off and the car jacked up, I did a lot of needed things on the undercarriage. I installed all the rubber drains on the doors and rocker panels, got the front seat belts installed, greased all the fittings on the chassis.... there's about a dozen fittings, unlike new cars having none. I also cleaned and installed the sun visors.
I had the tires mounted today. It was a minor fiasco, due to them not ordering the tires when I asked them to get them ordered. Because they're uncommon.... no one buys white walls any more.... no one had them in stock. Anyway it took a few extra days to get them, they came from a few different warehouses, the guy their stated. They still only got four, when I asked them to order five. Then they didn't have long valve stems, to accommodate the wheel covers..... I can't stand those extensions like we're used with the old tires. I ended up just going to a auto parts store and buying some, something they should have done! They did knock some money off for the fiasco.
I want to let the paint dry longer, before installing the wheel covers. I am going to paint the burs with Plastic Dip, to help protect the wheels. I did that on the Catalina.... it really saves scratching up the wheels.
