Sometimes the hardest part of decluttering an overwhelming space is simply figuring out where to start. My basement has been on my mind for quite a while. The main wall of shelving that I decluttered several years ago    • My Basement Clutter Clearing Journey   And it has stayed surprisingly well maintained, but the rest of the basement has gradually accumulated piles of old toys, projects, boxes, and things that need to be dealt with. So instead of trying to tackle the entire basement at once, I'm trying something much simpler: 15 minutes at a time. In today's video, I'm taking you along as I start the process—and you're welcome to work alongside me while you watch. Fold some laundry, unload your dishwasher, declutter a drawer, deal with some paperwork, or tackle whatever small project you've been putting off. We can make a little progress together. 🤎 I also realized that one of the problems I've been having is that I keep noticing the growing pile of cardboard boxes at the bottom of the basement stairs—but I don't want to stop what I'm doing every time I walk past it. So I created an Index Card to remind me to break down the cardboard regularly. After timing myself, I realized that 10 minutes once a month should be enough to keep that pile under control. Then I created another Index Card for 15-minute basement decluttering sessions, so I can continue making progress without feeling like I have to spend an entire day cleaning the basement. I'm also inspired by Dana K. White's approach to decluttering from Decluttering at the Speed of Life, particularly the idea of working through an overwhelming space without getting stuck in the typical questions that can make decluttering harder.    / @danakwhite   I'm not sure yet whether this basement project will become a full series on my channel. For now, I'm simply going to keep working on it 15 minutes at a time and see where it takes me. I may share updates in future videos or bonus videos as I make progress. 🌿 Want to Create Your Own Peaceful Home System?
